Another ‘When Calls the Heart’ Cast Exit Confirmed: See Who Won’t Be Back for Season 14

Another Hallmark actress has revealed that she was not asked back for the new season of When Calls the Heart.

Samantha Ferris has revealed that she will not be returning for season 14. She has portrayed Maisie Hickam across 11 episodes in seasons 11 and 13.

Last week, she posted the news on Instagram to let fans know they would not be seeing more of her in season 14.

She wrote, “Hey Gang! Sad news (for me, anyway). I won’t be back as the fabulous Maisie Hickam on When Calls the Heart this coming season. I don’t really have a reason as sometimes they just don’t tell you, but I LOVED my time on the show and grateful for the two seasons I had. Such a fabulous group of people. Keep on rollin, Hearties! Be well.”

This comes just after news broke that Melissa Gilbert will also not be returning for season 14.

“Many people have asked if I will be returning to When Calls the Heart this coming season,” Melissa wrote. “The answer to that is no.”

She said she had been told the decision came down to the show’s budget. Melissa made clear that she remains grateful for the role, describing her experience on the series as “lovely” and thanking the cast, crew, and the show’s devoted “Hearties.”
