A$AP Rocky Says Rihanna Is ‘Cooking’ In the Studio, Reveals If They Would Ever Collaborate

A$AP Rocky is giving a major new update on new Rihanna music!

The 37-year-old rapper addressed being the reason why his 38-year-old partner hasn’t released new music, and confirmed she’s actively been in the studio.

While appearing on The Jason Lee Show, which debuted on Wednesday (August 5), host Jason Lee asked if he was the reason why she hasn’t released a new album. It’s been over 10 years since her last LP, Anti, came out.

“She in the studio right now. Yeah, I said it. Sorry, babe. Bro, she work. She cooking, bro. No funny sh-t,” A$AP said. “Damn, I’mma get in trouble for this.”

Jason then asked if they would ever collaborate, for example, on a joint album where they’re both on every song.

“Nope. I would hate Rocky and Rihanna if they both did that. That’s trash,” he responded. “Nobody want to hear us together, bro. I make subversive weird ass indie rap. Like, I got a cult following, bro. I’m not your typical… I’m a handsome mainstream appeal and success. That’s the only thing, the reason why, the music that I make is for a niche demographic of people who actually get this sh-t.”

“So, if… you remember the outfit you had on when you was six. I make music for that. I make music for pretty boys. I make music for people that is misunderstood,” he continued. “I told you like, bro, Tyler the Creator, like that’s that’s my brother.”

When Jason said they can just figure it out, A$AP said they’ll make a joint album just for him, but he’s not allowed to leak it.

Earlier this year, Rihanna teased new music by sharing a video from inside the studio, timestamped at 3:30 am.

The last song she released was “Friend of Mine” from the Smurfs soundtrack in 2025, and before that was “Lift Me Up” in 2022 for the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever soundtrack.

Just last month, Rihanna performed with Jay-Z during one night of his Extra Innings concerts at Yankee Stadium, her first performance in three years!
