Kaycee Stroh is heading back to the High School Musical universe!
The 41-year-old actress and dancer has joined the cast of an upcoming stage production of the hit musical, where she will take on the role of Ms Darbus, who was played by Alyson Reed in the movies.
If you recall, Kaycee was in the original movie trilogy, where she played Martha Cox. In the first film, she had an iconic moment during the “Stick to the Status Quo” musical number!

“Revisiting the world of High School Musical in this new chapter feels like a genuine full-circle moment for me. From originating Martha Cox to now stepping into the equally iconic role of Ms. Darbus, it’s both an honour and a joy to be part of the story in a whole new way,” Kaycee shared in a statement. “Performing in the UK has long been a dream of mine, and to do so with a story that holds such deep meaning makes it even more special. Ultimately, I chose to take on this role for the fans, whose unwavering support, love, and shared nostalgia have made High School Musical so special!”
Prior to her casting announcement, she teased the news on Instagram when she shared that her family was making a big move to England.
“It’s going to 🐝 AMAZING!!! We are SO excited for this new adventure and can’t wait to take you along for the ride ✈️🏴🇬🇧 Big adventure. Big energy. Big reason…” she wrote in the caption.
It didn’t take long for fans to guess she was going to play Ms Darbus in the upcoming production of High School Musical.
HSM movie director Kenny Ortega even wished her luck!

Disney’s High School Musical, celebrating the first film’s 20th anniversary and the first UK non-replica production, will begin performances on August 22nd through Spetember 19th at The Lyric Theatre at Lowry.
