Jimmy Fallon made a surprise appearance on Saturday Night Live UK on Saturday (April 25).

SNL UK returned from a week-long hiatus with a new episode featuring Bridgerton star Nicola Coughlan as the host along with musical guests the Foo Fighters. Nicola is promoting her new fantasy adventure film The Magical Faraway Tree, which released earlier this week in the UK.

During her opening monologue, the Derry Girls alum joked that she’d done “a staggering amount of cocaine” to prepare for the role.

“It’s an honor to be hosting,” she said. “It sort of feels like I manifested it somehow. It’s almost like this place is like magic.”

Cue SNL veteran and The Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon jumping out to say, “That’s because it is!”

Jimmy then takes Nicola on a wild trip through the studio to prove just how powerful and “magic” it really is to be an SNL host.

“As much fun as this is, can I just get back hosting?” Nicola asked him.

“Yeah, that’s why I’m here, Nicola. To teach you the biggest secret of SNL that no-one wants you to know. Well, don’t tell anyone, but it’s LIVE,” Jimmy shared. “You’re not getting it, it’s actually live. You can do whatever you want, you can go wherever you want. You’re the host, they don’t stop you!”

Then they pranced into the audience and ruffled the hair of a someone Jimmy said was “Sir Paul McCartney,” though it obviously was not.

Backstage, they ran into some of the other show’s stars and convinced Dave Grohl to be Nicola‘s best friend, all to show off the magical abilities of an SNL host.

To cap it off, the pair then did an explicit rap to set up Nicola‘s movie, per Deadline.

“It’s the faraway tree, and it’s magic as f–k / Thick leaves, Nicky C and a magical trunk. It’s a big f–king tree / Gets a new land a day. And you think it’s big now / It’s far away,” she rapped to the “studio execs.”

Then Nicola brought out Jimmy‘s character, “Keith,” who fills in the rest of the lyrics with: “My name is Keith, I do the on-set catering / For when the cast and crew’s energy is wavering. Anything they need, you know I will get it / Look there’s my motherf–king name in the credits.”

Next week, Aimee Lou Wood is set to host! Get to know the cast of the UK sketch show here.
