Jennifer Lopez is dishing on her upcoming new movie Office Romance!

The 56-year-old singer and actress is starring in the forthcoming Netflix film alongside Brett Goldstein, who also co-wrote the script.

Office Romance is a “raunchy romantic comedy about a secret office romance and the trouble two workaholics get in when they start thinking with their hearts.”

In a new interview, JLo teased the forthcoming feature and revealed that it was written for her!

“I’m very excited about that. I haven’t done a romantic comedy in a while. I think since Marry Me, which was a few years back now. And I’m really excited about it. It’s really funny. It’s very, it’s kind of a classic rom-com, but it has like hard jokes, you know what I mean?” she said on SiriusXM’s BPM. “It’s like a little bit edgier than a normal JLo rom-com in a way, but it has all the DNA of a classic, you know, romantic comedy that you love, that you just kind of really fall in love with the characters and things like that. And a great cast. Reminds me a little bit of Maid in Manhattan in that way where we had this amazing supporting cast besides the two leads so, yeah.”

“[Brett] wrote the movie with Joe Kelly and they sent me the script and they were like, ‘We wrote this for you. If you don’t do it, we’re not even making the movie,” Jennifer added. “But it was really funny and me and my partner, Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas, my producing partner, really loved it and we went and we did it and I’m so glad we did. I’m really excited for people to see it.”

Office Romance, directed by Ol Parker, is set to debut on June 5th, and also stars Betty Gilpin, Amy Sedaris, Tony Hale, Bradley Whitford, and Edward James Olmos, who previously played JLo‘s father in 1997′s Selena: The Movie.
