Zayn Malik has been hospitalized.
Hours after dropping his fifth solo studio album Konnakol on Friday (April 17), the 33-year-old “Sideways” singer took to his Instagram Story to reveal that he is “unexpectedly recovering” in the hospital.
Keep reading to find out more…“To my fans – Thank you to all of you for your love & support now & always- been a long week and am still unexpectedly recovering,” Zayn wrote over a photo of himself laying in a hospital bed. “Heartbroken that I can’t see you all this week, I wouldn’t be in the place I am today without you guys and am so thankful for your understanding.”

“Thank you to the incredible hospital staff of Drs, nurses, cardiologist, management, admin and everyone who has helped along the way and continue to,” he added. “You are all legends! Big big love xx z”
As of right now, Zayn did not disclose why he was hospitalized.
Zayn‘s team, which runs the Instagram account @inzayn, also posted to their Instagram Story, revealing that several upcoming appearances have been canceled “given Zayn‘s recent health update.”
The canceled events include: meet and greets at the Looney Tunes Record Store on Long Island, New York; Newbury Comics in Boston; Rough Trade in New York City; and the Sound Garden in Baltimore.
His team noted that the pop-up shop at UMusic in New York City scheduled for April 20 will still go on, but Zayn will not appear for a planned meet and greet.
