SPOILER ALERT!
During the finale, Santos asks King if she wants to join her at a bar. While reluctant at first, King agrees to go. After watching the July 4th fireworks together, they go to a karaoke club.
The credits scene features them belting out “You Oughta Know” by Alanis Morissette.
“That karaoke was a very, very late add. While I was writing episode 15, we came up with that,” series creator R. Scott Gemmill told Variety. “That was a very last-minute thing. I thought it would be fun to put a little easter egg in there. The girls had had such a tough day that they deserved a night out on the town. And I thought it would be a nice surprise for the audience, and sort of to blast us into Season 3 with hope.”
Gemmill talked about the song selection too.
“I offered Taylor and Isa to pick whatever song and I had that song [You Outta Know by Alanis Morissette] in the script, just because I thought you could harsh that one out pretty wildly. And they stuck with it, and they such a great job. I was really glad we did that, and I was glad they were down for it. It is a nice sigh of relief after a heavy episode,” he told TheWrap.
