At the start of the season three premiere, there was a memorial card featuring a photo of Eric, who passed away in February after battling ALS.

“In remembrance of Eric Dane 1972 – 2026,” the screen read alongside the picture of Eric.

After the credits rolled at the end of the episode, the screen also shared an “In Memoriam” for Eric, Angus Cloud and executive producer Kevin Turen, who passed in 2023.

While Angus passed away before filming on season three started, Eric was still able to film for the new season, and was briefly featured in the season trailer. He reprises his role as Cal Jacobs, the father of Jacob Elordi‘s character Nate Jacobs.

Based on his trailer appearance, it seems that Eric will be featured in one of the scenes from Cassie and Nate’s wedding and has an interaction with Hunter Schafer as Jules, who his character had a one night stand with in the past.
