Lucy Hale to Play Sherlock Holmes' Descendant in 'Scarlett Holmes,' With a Rom-Com Twist! | Just Jared

Lucy Hale has a new mystery series on the way, and her character’s love life will be part of the case!
The Pretty Little Liars alum will star in and executive produce Scarlett Holmes, a limited series coming to The Roku Channel in 2027, according to Deadline.
Lucy will play a present-day descendant of Sherlock Holmes who puts the family’s talent for spotting clues to work on dating and relationship problems. She’ll have a partner in Jane Watson, who helps her figure out what’s going on in their clients’ romantic lives.
Each episode takes inspiration from a beloved romantic comedy, and Scarlett’s own relationship becomes part of the complication she has to figure out after she falls for a podcast producer secretly preparing an exposé about her methods.
Earlier this year, the actress marked four years of sobriety with an inspiring message to fans!
Lucy said the combination of romance and mystery helped draw her to the project.
“I am a true diehard fan of romantic comedies, and Scarlett Holmes has that special something that made me fall in love with the genre in the first place,” Lucy said in a statement shared with Deadline. “And I love that it brings mystery into the rom-com world in a way that feels really fresh and fun. It’s charming, sexy, funny, and has a lot of heart. Scarlett is smart, curious, a little complicated, and like so many of us, looking for love. I feel completely thrilled to step into her shoes.”
Lucy will be the show’s lead, with additional casting details still to come. The show is expected to premiere in 2027.
