'CATastrophe' Lyrics: Hilary Duff Explains Meaning Behind New Single For 'Cat in the Hat' Movie - Listen Now! | Just Jared

Hilary Duff just dropped her catchy new single, “CATastrophe“!

The 39-year-old debuted the new track as part of the upcoming animated movie, The Cat in the Hat, and the song was first previewed in a new trailer released hours before the full song’s release.

Hilary wrote the new song with her husband, Matthew Koma, along with Madison Love and Brian Philips, who also worked on songs for her latest album, luck… or something. Matthew and Brian also produced the new song.

In a statement, Hilary opened up about writing a song for the upcoming feature film, and what the track is about.

“Dr. Seuss was on repeat in our house for years, so when this came around I didn’t have to think about it. ‘CATastrophe’ is about that feeling when your whole world gets picked up and moved somewhere else and nobody asks you first. I wanted it to be honest about those feelings, and still be something you’d turn all the way up in the car.”

Along with the new song, Hilary released a music video, directed by Dano Cerny. Check it out above!

The new release from Duff comes on the heels of Hilary announcing more The Lucky Me Tour dates for 2027, and the news that she’ll be performing on select dates of this year’s iHeartRadio Jingle Ball Tour.
