The three-part series, documenting the life of the late Friends actor, is called The One About Matthew Perry – a play on the “The One With/Where…” title format for his hit sitcom – and arrives on Netflix on October 27.

The documentary was directed by Emmy-winning producer and director Mary Robertson, who worked on Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV and The Fall of Diddy, among other high-profile projects.

Is Matthew Perry’s Family Involved in the Documentary?

Yes, the documentary includes testimony from his sister, Mia Perry Bowick.

The family also provided never-before-seen videos and photos from their private collection.

“I hope this series gives everyone who loved him, whether personally or from afar, a deeper appreciation for who he truly was, and the legacy he leaves behind,” his sister Mia said in a statement.

How Did Matthew Perry Die?

Matthew, best known for his beloved performance as Chandler Bing in the hit sitcom Friends, died suddenly on October 28, 2023 at the age of 54. His death was later ruled to have been caused by “acute effects of ketamine.”

Five people have been sentenced in connection to his death so far. More recently, his former assistant was sentenced to prison.
