Hayden Panettiere's Ex Wladimir Klitschko Files for Guardianship of Their Daughter Kaya | Just Jared

Wladimir Klitschko has filed for temporary guardians of his and ex Hayden Panettiere‘s 11-year-old daughter Kaya following the Heroes actress’ death.

The 50-year-old retired Ukrainian boxer submitted paperwork on September 24 to be the temporary guardian over Kaya‘s estate, according to court documents obtained by Us Weekly. Kaya is the sole inheritor of Hayden‘s estate following her tragic passing last month.

Since Kaya is a minor, the court can “appoint a guardian of Kaya’s estate who would then succeed to Kaya’s priority” while Hayden‘s estate is in probate. Wladimir asked the court to be named his daughter’s guardian so he can “have standing to file” and “nominate a proposed administrator” on Kaya’s behalf in order to “protect” her rights to Hayden’s estates.

According to Celebrity Net Worth, Hayden‘s net worth was an estimate $6 million at the time of her death.

“It is urgent and essential that Wladimir be immediately appointed Temporary Guardian of Kaya’s Estate, to afford Wladimir the necessary standing to file Hayden’s Probate Petition, and the power to nominate a proposed Administrator of Hayden’s Estate,” the court documents read. “Without an immediate appointment for these purposes, there is a high probability that property belonging to Hayden’s Estate may be lost, damaged or dissipated before a duly appointed personal representative can be in place to protect it. This directly and adversely affects Kaya, as she is the sole heir entitled to the entirety of Hayden’s probate estate.”

The filing claimed that some of the Bring It On: All of Nothing actress’ items, including “designer clothing and accessories” and “jewelry” have been temporarily relocated from her Los Angeles home amid the ongoing investigation into her death.

“There is no personal representative currently authorized to safeguard the interests of Hayden’s Estate in connection with the investigation, including the return of estate property once it is no longer needed by investigators,” the documents read.

Wladimir Klitschko and Hayden Panettiere were previously engaged

Wladimir and Hayden met in 2009, and were together for two years before split. The couple reunited in 2013, and got engaged.

The following year, it was announced that Hayden was pregnant with their daughter. In December 2014, Hayden gave birth to their daughter, Kaya, who was born at 7 lbs., 14 oz., and measured 20 inches.

Following the birth of Kaya, Hayden struggled with postpartum depression, which she had been very open about.

Hayden and Wladimir broke up in 2019 after nine years together, and they continued to co-parent Kaya. However, amid Hayden‘s struggles, it was revealed the following year that Kaya was living in Ukraine with her father.

The Ice Princess actress died on August 16 at the age of 36. Her official cause of death was recently confirmed and the manner of her death was ruled an accident.

Shortly after her death, Wladimir released a statement reacting to news of Hayden‘s passing, and revealed the promise he made to Kaya.
