Yung Lean Performs Nominated Song 'STORM' With GENER8ION at MTV VMAs 2026 - Watch Now! | Just Jared

Yung Lean put on a unique performance with GENER8ION at the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday (September 27) at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles.

The 30-year-old Swedish rapper and the audiovisual project duo, consisting of French electronic music producer Surkin and French director Romain Gavras, delivered a visually appealing performance of their song “STORM” during the awards show.

The “STORM” performance began with Yung Lean backstage at the VMAs, where he first smashes a chair on the ground before walking over and snatching a Moonman trophy.

He then walks on stage, halts, and throws the trophy on the ground, smashing it into pieces, before walking over the risers among the dancers.

One dancer hands Yung Lean an ice cream, which he takes a bite out of as the song begins.

“STORM” was nominated for 4 awards at the VMAs

The collab between GENER8ION and Yung Lean was up for four awards at this year’s ceremony.

While it unfortunately didn’t win any, the performance is sure to have people talking!

“STORM” was up for Video of the Year, Best Long Form Video, Best Direction for Romain Gavras, and Best Choreography for Damien Jalet.

Earlier in the night, Yung Lean hit the carpet with his girlfriend, Zoe Bleu Sidel, and Surkin from GENER8ION was seen walking the carpet solo. The two guys also posed for a photo together as well.
