Madonna was the big winner of the night at the VMAs this year!
The legendary singer took home seven awards at the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday (September 27) at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles.
Madonna led the nominations this year with 13 nods, followed by Taylor Swift with 11.
Madonna won seven awards at VMAs 2026
Madonna picked up seven wins at the show, though she lost the big award of the night (Video of the Year).
She won:
- Artist of the Year
- Best Collaboration for “Bring Your Love” with Sabrina Carpenter
- Best Dance for Confessions II – The Film
- Best Cinematography for Confessions II – The Film
- Best Choreography for Confessions II – The Film
- Best Long Form Video for Confessions II – The Film
- Best Album for Confessions II
Madonna also opened the show with an incredible performance that featured cameos from so many celebs.
Taylor Swift won two competitive awards and a special honor
Taylor took home the awards for Video of the Year for “The Fate of Ophelia” and Best Direction for “Opalite.”
Taylor was also the recipient of the first-ever Artist Director Honors, highlighting her work as both the artist and director of her music videos.

Taylor Swift was predicted to win seven awards, Madonna was predicted to win four awards
Ahead of the VMAs, Kalshi put out the odds for all of the awards.
Taylor was predicted to go home with Video of the Year, Artist of the Year, Best Album, Best Pop, Best Art Best Direction, Best Direction, and Best Cinematography.
Madonna was predicted to go home with Best Collaboration, Best Dance, Best Long Form Video, and Best Editing
