Chris Hansen finally got to see Primetime.
Robert Pattinson plays the controversial television figure in the new A24 movie, which follows Hansen‘s involvement with the Dateline series To Catch a Predator, along with the production of the reality TV series.
Weeks before the movie’s release on September 25, Hansen, who had not seen the movie yet, criticized Primetime for not consulting him during production and said that he wouldn’t have cast Rob to play him.
After seeing the movie in an early screening on Thursday night (September 24), Hansen took to X to share his initial reaction to Primetime.
“It was so bizarre and so in and out of reality, it’s hard for me to…” Hansen says in a video from outside a movie theater. “Obviously I’m not objective because the character is, you know, me, but it was so detached from reality or anything I’ve experienced then or now doing the investigations. I’m not sure what the point of it was.”
He went on on to say that he will later be sharing his full reaction to the movie on his YouTube channel.
