Netflix's 'The Beast in Me' Renewed for Season 2, Claire Danes to Return as Aggie Wiggs! | Just Jared

Surprise! Netflix’s TV show The Beast in Me, which was thought to be more of a limited series, is returning for a second season!

On Thursday (September 24), Netflix revealed that the show would return with more episodes, and Claire Danes would reprise her role as author Aggie Wiggs. Executive producer, writer and co-showrunner Howard Gordon will also be back.

Howard Gordon said, “We always told ourselves we’d only do a second season of ‘The Beast in Me’ if we found a story that was worthy of the first – and I’m thrilled to say we found it.   We loved making this show and our audience seemed to love watching it, so we’re enormously grateful to Jinny Howe and Netflix, and to Karey Burke and 20th Television for giving us the chance to get the band back together and do it again.” 

At the end of season one, Nile (Matthew Rhys) is exposed as a serial killer after trying to frame Aggie. He is arrested and put in prison, where he is the murdered.

It’s unclear what the focus of season two will be at this time, but it looks likely we won’t see more of Matthew’s character! Netflix did share that additional season two details and information will be shared at a later time.

But she finds an unlikely subject for a new book when the house next door is bought by Nile Jarvis (Rhys), a famed and formidable real estate mogul who was once the prime suspect in his wife’s disappearance. At once horrified and fascinated by this man, Aggie finds herself compulsively hunting for the truth – chasing his demons while fleeing her own – in a game of cat and mouse that might turn deadly.
