Jessica Lange Teases a Fifth ‘American Horror Story’ Character for Season 13

Jessica Lange is teasing a fifth role in the upcoming season of American Horror Story, which will already see her reprising her roles as four previous characters!

The 77-year-old actress visited Live with Kelly and Mark for the Tuesday (September 22) and she revealed for the first time that she’s going to be playing a fifth “mystery character.”

“I threw in an extra, that’s kind of a mystery character,” she shared during the interview.

Later, Jessica added that there is a fifth character, but she won’t spoil who it is and she’s curious “if anybody can figure it out.”

Ryan Murphy previously said she had one specific condition that would make her return to the show. However, in her new interview, Jessica said she actually only agreed to come back if she got to revisit all four of her previous characters.

• Sister Jude Martin from Asylum
• Fiona Goode from Coven
• Elsa Mars from Freak Show

“First, he talked to me about playing [season 1’s] Constance, which I think was his favorite character that I did. But I said I’ll come back if I can do all four characters,” she shared.

She also said coming back “was great” because she likes all four characters.

“It was fun to play them, and, coming back, it was great to do them again,” Jessica reflected.
