Vicky Krieps had a wild moment on the set of Monster: The Lizzie Borden Story that involved her spitting on co-star Charlie Hunnam.

Vicky, 42, plays the Borden family housemaid Bridget Sullivan in the series. She quickly forms a close bond with Lizzie Borden (Ella Beatty) and eventually the pair work together to murder Lizzie’s parents, including her father, Andrew Borden (Hunnam) and her stepmother (Rebecca Hall).

There’s a scene in the show where Vicky and Charlie‘s characters get into a heated fight and spits on him. According to the Phantom Threads star, she really did it and it was because Charlie encouraged her to “really go for it.”

“I’m saying, ‘But I’m really strong.’ He says, ‘That’s fine,’ and he’s really strong, so he doesn’t mind,” she continued, according to People. “The strength was not a problem, but I was so in it that I’m supposed to kill him in the fantasy. He falls to the floor, and I bent over and I spat on him.”
