Ms. Rachel Matches Macklemore’s $1 Million Donation to Support Palestine, Invites ‘Every Wealthy White Celebrity’ to Also Donate

Ms. Rachel is following in Macklemore‘s footsteps to help support Palestine.
After being dropped as a supporting act on Ed Sheeran‘s Loop Tour, the 43-year-old “Thrift Shop” rapper announced that he’s donating his $1 million salary to support the cause that led to his dismissal.
Then on Thursday (September 17), the 43-year-old children’s show host, whose real name is Rachel Accurso, announced that she will be matching Macklemore‘s $1 million donation to Palestine relief efforts.
“I will match Macklemore’s donation and I invite every wealthy white celebrity to match it and speak out against the genocide in Gaza,” Ms. Rachel wrote on Instagram. “Over 20,000 precious Palestinian children have been killed and children continue to be killed every day.

“We have a moral obligation to use our privilege and platforms to protect children and human rights,” she added.
In her caption, Ms. Rachel noted that she is an ambassador for the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund (PCRF) and will be donating to the organization.
After Ms. Rachel announced her donation, Macklemore took to his Instagram Story to respond, writing, “wowwww,” along with the red heart emoji, twinkling stars emoji, and the Palestine flag emoji.
When Macklemore first announced that he was donating his Loop Tour salary to pro-Palestine organizations, he also challenged billionaire and New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft to match it. Kraft, 85, is involved in this controversy because he did not want Macklemore performing at his Gillette Stadium and reportedly pressured Ed, 35, to remove the rapper from his tour.
Shortly after getting called out by Macklemore to donate, Kraft revealed that he and Ed had already both donated $2 million “to aid in the region to fight this humanitarian crisis.”
Ed‘s Loop Tour is scheduled to resume on Saturday, September 19 at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia. As of right now, he has no opening acts or accompanying band as every musician pulled out of the tour in solidarity with Macklemore and Palestine.
