Tyler Perry is getting ready to make some major changes in his life.
The 57-year-old actor, director and producer revealed that he plans to move to Puerto Rico at the beginning of 2027.
Along with the big move, Tyler says he plans to cut back on work after spending years as one of the busiest people in Hollywood.
During an interview on Today With Jenna & Sheinelle, Tyler was asked if he ever plans to slow down.
“Yep, moving to Puerto Rico at the top of the year, and I’m pulling back a whole lot,” he revealed.

Tyler explained that getting older has made him think differently about how he wants to spend his time.
“Getting older,” he said when asked what inspired the change. “It’s time to slow down a bit, enjoy more time with my son and just take it all in.”
Tyler shares his 11-year-old son Aman with his ex Gelila Bekele, whom he dated from 2009 until 2020.
The filmmaker did not explain exactly what “pulling back” will mean for his career or whether it will affect any of his current movie and television projects.
The news comes shortly after Tyler celebrated his 57th birthday and the release of his latest movie, Why Did I Get Married Again?
Is Tyler Perry Retiring?
Despite his plans to slow down, Tyler has not announced that he’s retiring. It sounds like he simply plans to take on less work as he enters this next chapter of his life.
During the same interview, Tyler also opened up about his personal life and revealed that marriage is not in his future.
“At this age, no, that’s not a good idea for me. So no, won’t be any marriage for me,” he said.
