Nicolas Cage Responds to 'Spider-Noir' Cancellation as Series Wins 5 Emmys | Just Jared

Nicolas Cage is speaking out about the cancellation of Spider-Noir amid the series winning five Emmy awards at the 2026 Creative Arts Emmys, which aired on Sunday night (September 6).

Prime Video previously canceled the show after one season despite it receiving multiple nominations at the time.

“For me, one season is perfect, having said what I wanted to say with this dangerous, innovative, pop-art Spider-Man,” Nicolas said in a statement shared with Deadline. “Onwards, upwards, inwards.”

Spider-Noir is a live-action series based on the Marvel comics Spider-Man Noir. Nicolas starred as a private investigator in 1930s New York who must “grapple with his past life, following a deeply personal tragedy, as the city’s one and only superhero.”

The series received great reviews from fans and critics, earning a total of 11 Emmy nominations, which is the most of any Prime Video series this year.

The Prime Video/MGM+ series was confirmed to be canceled earlier this month.

The series marked Nic‘s first-ever regular TV role. The cast also included Lamorne Morris, Li Jun Li, Abraham Popoola, Karen Rodriguez, Jack Huston and Brendan Gleeson.
