Jessica Simpson Filming New Netflix Documentary Directed by Joe Pearlman

Jessica Simpson is teaming up with Netflix for a new project!
On Thursday (August 20), the streaming service announced on Tudum that the 46-year-old entertainer and fashion designer is inviting the “cameras back in to tell all” in a new documentary.
It’s been over 20 years since Jessica first invited cameras into her life for her reality show, Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica, which chronicled her first years of marriage to ex-husband Nick Lachey.

Since then, Jessica has sold more than 20 million records worldwide, launched one of the most successful celebrity licensing brands in history, and written a bestselling memoir, Open Book. After a 15-year hiatus from music, Jessica returned to recording and performing with her two 2025 Nashville Canyon EPs. The releases came following her split from husband Eric Jonson after nearly 11 years of marriage and three kids.
The documentary will be directed by BAFTA nominee Joe Pearlman, who previously directed Lewis Capaldi: How I’m Feeling Now for Netflix and Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts for HBO Max.
Jessica‘s doc will be released in 2027.
During a recent concert, Jessica looked back at the intense pressure she felt to lose weight early in her career.
