Princess Eugenie Reveals Newborn Daughter’s Name & the Special Meaning Behind the Moniker

Earlier this month, it was revealed that Princess Eugenie and her husband Jack Brooksbank welcomed a baby girl to their family.
The little one was born on Monday (August 3) in the evening at a hospital in Lisbon, Portugal. The Princess and her husband got married back in 2018. You can see their official wedding portraits right here. They dated for about seven years before announcing their engagement.
They are also parents to two sons, August, 5, and Ernest, 3.
Now, the newborn’s name has been revealed!
According to British Vogue, the royal and her husband chose the name Adelaide Elizabeth Annina Brooksbank for their newborn daughter.
“Two weeks ago today we welcomed our girl to the world and since then we’ve had the most special, cosy and love-filled time,” she told the mag.
What is the meaning of Adelaide’s name?
She told the publication that her daughter is “named after three people we love and admire past and present, including her great grandmother, who we hold close in our hearts. Her name is part of English and Portuguese history, two places we love and call home. Augie and Ernie are already the best big brothers.”
The Princess’ grandmother is the late Queen Elizabeth. Princess Eugenie is the daughter of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson.
