Tom Holland in Spider-Man Brand New Day

Spider-Man: Brand New Day is standing strong and continuing to make history.

The latest movie in Tom Holland‘s Spider-Man movies became Sony’s highest-grossing movie of all time in its third weekend, bringing in an additional $70 million at the domestic box office.

It also just notched the record for the second best third weekend for any movie, just behind 2015’s Star Wars: The Force Awakens, per THR.

The movie has made $785.8 million so far domestically, making it the fourth highest grossing movie of all time so far, passing Avatar. Tom‘s 2021 film Spider-Man: No Way Home is next on that list at $814.8 million.

It also passed the $2 billion mark globally, becoming the second fastest movie of all time to do so, next to Avengers: Endgame. It’s only the 8th movie to notch that record. It’s currently sitting as $2.022 billion worldwide.

Casual fans and die-hard MCU experts all know that each and every Marvel movie has at least one end credits scene…and Brand New Day did not break from that tradition.

However, the end credits scene is open to interpretation, and some fans are confused.

Tom Holland just revealed there is a succession plan for the next actor to take over the role of Spider-Man.
