Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodriguez just tied the knot, and we’re getting tons of new details about the nuptials.

The 41-year-old soccer superstar and the 32-year-old model and entrepreneur got married on August 11 in an intimate ceremony at home in Portugal, and they revealed lots of details about the big day in a special feature for Vogue.

Find out everything we learned from the interview…

Numerology played a big role in their life

Cristiano‘s lucky number is 7. They bought their new summer home in Cascais, Portugal on the seventh month (July) of the year, which took seven years to build.

“It’s perfect. All number sevens are signs,” Georgina said.

The wedding took place on the anniversary of the day they met

Cristiano and Georgina met in a Gucci store on August 11, 2016. Their wedding took place exactly 10 years later.

They got married in their living room, despite lavish reports

“In the future we will have a big wedding, so we can celebrate with family and friends,” she explained to Vogue of the intimate ceremony, citing their “crazy year” of “work commitments, competitions, kids.”

“When I was a little girl. I dreamt of the biggest castle, the biggest carriage, the longest dress, a crown full of diamonds. And now I’m saying: no. I want something intimate, with my partner and our children, at home. Because castles, houses, islands, horses, cars: We have all of that within reach every day. But something intimate—that’s more unusual for us.”

“We’ve chosen to do it in the living room of our house here, where we have breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and where we live the reality of our lives. In 30 years’ time I want the children to think, Something wonderful happened at this table—the wedding vows of our parents.”

“It probably won’t be the same table. We might change the decor,” Cristiano joked.

He also said it will be “a normal day,” before correcting himself and saying: “it will be a special day, spent in a normal way.”

The diamond details and wedding rings

Georgina has an oval-cut diamond engagement ring, and plans to add a Chopard Garden of Kalahari necklace “with a D-flawless 50-carat brilliant-cut diamond” as its centerpiece.

Cristiano shared a close-up of their wedding bands on Instagram.

On the day they met

In August 2016, Cristiano went into the Gucci store on the Calle Serrano in Madrid with his six-year-old son Cristiano Jr., where 22-year-old Georgina was a sales assistant covering for a friend.

“That’s destiny,” she said.

“I had my back to her and then I turned around and saw her. Our eyes met, and from that point on it was….” Cristiano continued to explain.

“It was a dream,” Georgina added.

“Yes, a dream,” he said. “I know she’s the love of my life, and I think I am…I think she thinks I’m the love of her life.”

Their childrens’ involvement

They welcomed twins Eva and Mateo a year later, and then Alana, and in 2022 they welcomed another set of twins, Bella and Ángel, but only Bella survived.

In the wedding ceremony, the children’s role was described by Georgina as “protagonists, as they are in all our days.”

The family’s outfits were designed by Gucci

“It felt incredibly special to dress Georgina and Cristiano for this moment, knowing their love story began in a Gucci store in Madrid,” artistic director, Demna said.

“There is something so romantic about it—a beautiful circle closing, almost like a modern fairy tale.”

Georgina added: “He’s not going to dress us up. I didn’t want us to go into a day that was so simple for us in costumes.”

From the brand…

Cristiano Ronaldo wore a custom Gucci light beige cotton single-breasted notch lapel suit with silver Horsebit detail on the trousers waistband, a white jersey t-shirt and custom loafers with Horsebit detail.

Georgina Rodriguez wore a custom Gucci Primavera white silk faille suit, consisting of a single-breasted three-button jacket and a pencil skirt with a center-back slit, paired with a matching white silk crepe de chine shirt and white satin matching shoes with a silver metal Horsebit detail.

Cristiano Ronaldo Junior and Mateo Ronaldo wore matching trousers and poplin white shirts. Eva Maria, Alana Martina, and Bella Esmeralda Ronaldo wore Gucci white cotton dresses and Gucci ballet flats.

The wedding photos were taken by Juergen Teller

“His photographs are art. I didn’t want the typical boring family album. I wanted an artistic one that would last forever,” she explained.

After the ceremony, they went to Shrine of Our Lady of Fatima for a blessing

“I tend to avoid places where there are crowds,” Cristiano said of the private moment.

They are not taking a honeymoon

Cristiano plays in Saudi Arabia for Al-Nassr, and starts the season on August 15.

“Every day is a honeymoon,” he said.

Cristiano reflected on “probably” his last year of football

“This is probably my last year of football, and I want to leave a spectacular legacy. I have my future all mapped out. I have so many things to keep me busy that to tell you just one thing is hard. Because football could leave a big hole, you have to fill your time in various ways, not just one. And also have more fun, travel more, watch and play padel, which I really like, and continue to enjoy what I’ve earned—what we’ve earned. Because after all it’s been 25 years with a lot of sacrifice.”

They’re not ruling out more kids

“I never say never,” Cristiano said.

“Another baby now would be overbooking [she uses the English word] at home. But when the youngest are 15 or 16 we’ll still be young, so why not? It’s true that I can’t imagine myself without small children, so we’ll see,” Georgina added.

Georgina shares her first reaction after the wedding

“It was exactly as I’d imagined it. Intimate, full of love, and with our family in the most important starring role. I couldn’t hold back the tears.”

She added that during their trip afterward to the Chapel of Our Lady of Sorrows, she “felt a peace and an energy that are very hard to describe. I needed nothing more: my husband, my children, our home, our faith, and our love.”
