'Scrubs' Season 2 Teaser Reveals Scott Foley's Return, 'SNL' Alum John Higgins Joins Cast | Just Jared - Celebrity News and Gossip

ABC has shared the first teaser for the second season of the Scrubs revival, or the eleventh season of the show overall.

The teaser was showed during the “Scrubs: Scrubbing Back In” panel at D23 on Saturday (August 15) and the biggest reveal showed off the return of Scott Foley as Sean Kelly, Elliot’s (Sarah Chalke) former boyfriend.

Saturday Night Live alum John Higgins has also joined the cast in a significant recurring role.

Scott Foley is returning to Scrubs

Scott moderated the panel with stars Zach Braff, Donald Faison, Sarah Chalke, and showrunner Aseem Batra before confirming his return. He will reportedly recur during the season, with Sean and Elliot expected to explore their relationship again.

The Scrubs revival revealed early on that J.D. and Elliot had separated and their breakup has been controversial among fans.

But while Elliot is interested in Sean again, J.D. will pursue a relationship with Rachel Bilson‘s Charlie, setting up a new dynamic.

“Scott Foley’s back to be love interest for Sarah, and Rachel has been mine; the dynamic with us all together is just hilarious, and we’re having so much fun,” Zach told Deadline during the D23 panel.

The teaser also features appearances from returning favorites like Judy Reyes, John C. McGinley, Christa Miller, and more, along with a new look at Keyla Monterroso Meija, who is joining as Turk’s new surgical nurse, Mimi.

John Higgins joins the cast of Scrubs for season 11

John Higgins is a former SNL writer and performer who is also known as a member of Please Don’t Destroy. He will have a major recurring role as Grant, Sacred Heart’s new Chief Resident.

He is expected to become a thorn in J.D.’s side, similar to the way J.D. often irritated Dr. Cox, Deadline reports.

Season 2 premieres with two episodes on Wednesday, September 30 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC. Episodes will stream the following day on Hulu and Hulu on Disney+.
