Alden Ehrenreich is the latest to join the cast of the upcoming new Miami Vice ’85 movie!

The 36-year-old actor, who recently won the Best Featured Actor in a Play award at the 2026 Tonys, is reportedly set to join the cast of the new take on the 1980s series, according to Deadline.

Details on his role are currently unknown at this time.

Alden is the latest actor to be attached to the project, following Michael B Jordan as Ricardo “Rico” Tubbs and Austin Butler as Sonny Crockett.

The upcoming movie “explores the glamour and corruption of the mid-’80s Miami in an all new version,” and is inspired by the first episode of the 1980s TV series.

Joseph Kosinski is set to direct and produce, along with Dylan Clark/Dylan Clark Productions, who have recently produced The Batman and The Penguin. Dan Gilroy penned the script, after previously writing such movies as Kong: Skull IslandNightcrawlerThe Bourne Legacy and several episodes of Andor.

Miami Vice ’85 is set to be filmed for IMAX, with production starting later this year. The movie is currently slated for a May 19, 2028 release.
