The Ben Affleck-directed movie, co-written by Ben, Connor O. McIntyre and Billy Ray and co-produced with Matt and Luciana Damon, hits the streamer and select theaters on October 9.

The star-studded film also features Ben, as well as Kerry Washington, Gillian Anderson, Adriana Paz, Ray Fisher, Christopher Woodley, Matt Gerald, and Jacob Estrada, with Luis Gerardo Méndez, and Steven Yeun.
What Is ‘Animals’ About?
Here’s the official synopsis: “When their son is kidnapped, a Los Angeles mayoral candidate and his wife find themselves drawn into a web of deception. As they scramble to raise the ransom payment, they’re forced to make choices that could tear their world apart.”
Animals production took place in and around Los Angeles, “embracing the city as an integral part of the story. The producers are committed to supporting the local film industry, keeping jobs within the community, and reinforcing LA as a hub for filmmaking,” Netflix notes.
Ben Affleck has also directed films like Gone Baby Gone, The Town, Argo and Live By Night, as well as Air.
