Just Jared: Does Rome have a date to come visit you yet?

Lyric Medeiros: I don’t want to spoil anything, but people should expect something within the next two weeks.

JJ: Okay, wow. How do you think the showmance impacted your game?

Lyric Medeiros: Of course, going into the game, I think any showmance is going to put a target on your back. It’s going to bring some. It’s a house full of 16 people. You’re with each other every single day. People see two people mac and her kiss, and they’re going to be like, what’s up? We need to get one of them out. They’re going to vote the same way. I don’t think I would have done anything differently in that house because Rome was my person the minute I walked in there.

And when you can find someone that you can trust and that you know is going to protect you and care for you in that house full of people coming after you, you hold onto them tight. And so I wouldn’t have treated that for the world. And now that Rome and I are so strong outside of the house, it just shows that we were meant to be, we clicked and, um, you know, we’re just working towards building that future together at this point.

JJ: Has your view of any of the house guests changed from when you were inside the house to now?

Lyric Medeiros: Of course, seeing different clips about people talk behind my back and make fun of me is not the nicest thing. However, I understand it’s a game and I understand emotions are high. And so I get it. I think I’m going to be friends with every single one of them outside of this. But yeah, dang, some people had some things to say about me. Sheesh.

JJ: Did you see anyone specifically making fun of you?

Lyric Medeiros: I think Drew and Melody were making fun of me. Totally fine. You can say what you want to say in that house, but obviously not the nicest feeling. But I think we still be friends on the outside of this. I mean, I get it. It a game. It a TV show. So do what you got to do. I definitely was a little shocked though.

JJ: In another interview, I saw you called Angela “fake,” Dee “untrustworthy,” Kamu “caring,: Haley, a “bad-ass.” Do you still agree with all those labels?

Lyric Medeiros: Yes, I do, because I knew that Angela throughout the game was telling me things that I just wanted to hear. And actually, what a lot of people didn’t see is that every eviction night when one of my closest people was going home, Rome, Jason, I was sitting on the couch and I was obviously emotional, and she looks at me and she goes, like…smiling at me [Lyric imitates Angela smiling at her]. And I’m thinking, oh, my goodness, girl, my closest people in this house are being taken away from me and you’re smiling at me. And it just, it made me feel really sad in the moment.

But that’s why I said those things. She would always tell me things like, she’s like, you’re pivoting very well. I like watching you around the house, Lyric. You know, you can still be friends with people. And those are just the feelings that I had.

JJ: Did you feel like she was condescending towards you?

Lyric Medeiros: 100%, but it’s okay. I get it. It’s a game. But not the nicest feeling. It’s okay. I’m going to be friends with everyone on the outside. I think it’s a game, emotions are high, people do certain things for certain reasons, and I understand that.

JJ: Who do you think is going to be the first to take a shot at the three icons?

Lyric Medeiros: Oh gosh… I hope it’s Mallory or I hope it’s someone on our side of the house. I hope it’s Yash, honestly, because I love Yash. However, I don’t think he would take such a big shot because he has such a good position in the house, and I think he wants to stay in that position. And so, if he wins, I don’t know if he’s going to put them up, but I know someone is going to put up the reality TV icons, and it’s going to be from the other side of the house or possibly someone from the red corner because everything blew up this week. The fact that it was at my expense, I mean, totally. Get the power on the other side of the house. It’s about time.

JJ: Were you surprised by any of Lala nominees?

Lyric Medeiros: No, I love Lala. I think she killing it. Holy smokes. She took that wall comp. So happy for her. I’m not surprised by her nominees. Do I wish that she put up Devens? 1000%.

JJ: You’ve done a few press interviews already at this point. Is there anything you feel like you want to address but haven’t had the chance to or anything you want to clear up for anyone?

Lyric Medeiros: Yes. Coming out of the game, I see that everyone was like, whoa, you guys were making out day two. I want people to know that Rome and I had multiple conversations before we actually started kissing. We got to know each other. And that’s when we knew, oh my gosh, this could be my person. I really like this person. And I really want people to know that the one moment that I kind of knew Rome was someone I wanted in my life was when after week one renom, um, I kind of broke down and I missed my family, and he held me there and he was like, I’m not leaving you until you feel better and you stop crying. And he was just there for me in a moment where I was really low and I missed my family, and that was the moment when I was like, oh goodness gracious, this guy’s gorgeous and he has a big heart and he cares about me. Say less, let’s go forever together.

JJ: Do you have plans to link up with any of the other evicted house guests?

Lyric Medeiros: Oh, for sure. If Yash is evicted, which we hope not, Rome and I are going to see Yash and we are going to see Auntie Lala, and we love Taylor too. But for right now, we are rooting for those three. We are rooting for Yash. We want him to win the whole thing. I am just so excited to see what happens, and we’re cheering on Team Yash all the way.

JJ: Okay, so Yash is your winner pick, but is he your winner prediction?

Lyric Medeiros: Yes, he’s my winner pick. My winner prediction would probably be Devens or Dee. I think that they have a lot of power in that house, and they were given a lot of power from the get-go, and so I think that they’re in good positions. But I also think they have big targets on their back because they’ve been kind of controlling the house. So in that, I think someone who’s in the middle and who’s friends with everyone, like our boy Yash, I think he’s going to win this whole thing. And we are hoping that he does.

JJ: And take me back to when you heard the vote was 8-3. Did you think there was a chance that you were going to stay?

Lyric Medeiros: No, I think throughout the week, I knew that people were talking. There were three days leading up to the eviction of just us being in the house and people talking, and I think there’s only so much game you can talk, and everyone had a consensus that we were going to keep Lyric no matter what. And when things started to get busy towards the eviction day, I knew that something was up because Dee was running around a lot. Devens was talking to Dee a lot. I knew that something fishy was happening. I knew from the beginning that if Haley was HOH, there was a huge chance I was going home. 100%. When you put someone up on the block, you risk them going home no matter what. Even if you are putting them up as a pun, puns go home. I was aware of that from the beginning. And so, in the back of my mind, I was always protecting myself and thinking I’m going to go home.
