Mason Gooding & Emily Rudd Cast in 'Crawl' Sequel, New Details Revealed | Just Jared - Celebrity News and Gossip

Mason Gooding and Emily Rudd have joined the cast of Crawl 2.

Paramount is making a follow-up to the 2019 creature feature that starred Kaya Scodelario and Barry Pepper as a father-daughter duo being hunted by a bunch of ferocious alligators during a Category 5 hurricane in Florida.

The new thriller is reportedly going to be set in New York, and gators will crowd the “streets and sewers after a hurricane hits the city,” per The Hollywood Reporter.

Director Alexandre Aja is returning to direct the sequel, which is set to go into production later this month in Hungary.

Mason is best known for his starring role as Chad Meeks-Martin in the Scream franchise. He starred in Olivia Wilde‘s feature directorial debut Booksmart and reunited with her in new movie I Want Your Sex. Mason is also currently starring in Netflix’s Kevin Hart comedy 72 Hours. He’s also the son of Cuba Gooding Jr.

Emily is one of the lead roles in Netflix’s super-successful live-action adaptation of One Piece. She’s also set to start in Whalefall with Josh Brolin and Austin Abrams this October and previously starred in Netflix movie Fear Street: 1978.
