Dylan Walsh just spilled some major tea about Heated Rivalry!

The 62-year-old actor plays David Hollander in the hit series, who is the dad of Hudson Williams‘ Shane Hollander.

Filming on the show’s second season is about to begin, and while a third season has not been announced, Dylan seemingly confirmed that it’s happening in a new video to a fan.

In a Cameo video to a fan, which has hit the internet, Dylan teased he’s about to head back to Canada to start filming, but what he said towards the end is what is getting everyone’s attention the most.

“Dylan Walsh, Shane’s dad. That’s what I’m known as now, which is fine. I’m proud to be Shane’s dad,” he starts out in the clip, posted by @theawkoturtle on TikTok.

“I love doing Heated Rivalry. I didn’t really do much in it, but I’m proud to be in it,” he continued. “I wish every dad was as cool as Shane’s dad. [The] world would be a better place.”

What he says next seems to confirm the long-running theory/rumor that they are filming seasons two and three back-to-back, since it’s been noted that the production timeline is slated to last much longer than the first.

“Getting ready to go back up to Canada and shoot some more episodes,” Dylan says. “So, I think we’re doing 12 this time.”

Fans of the books will also know that Cameo plays a big role in “The Long Game,” when Hayden Pike accidentally reveals Shane and Ilya are dating, when they are seen kissing in the background of a video he records for a fan. Although the book’s version of Cameo is called FanMail.

If you recall, the first season only had six episodes, and creator Jacob Tierney previously said that season two would also only have six episodes. With Dylan saying 12, it’s only fueled the speculation that “The Long Game,” which season two is set to be based on, will be split into two seasons.

Another guess for some fans, is that season three could be based on the upcoming book “Unrivaled,” the third Shane and Ilya book that Rachel Reid is working on. In fact, she just posted a photo of what appears to be the finished manuscript, writing, “I hope you guys like Ilya and Shane…”

“Unrivaled,” the seventh book in the “Game Changers” series, was pushed back from its original September 2026 release date to June 2027.

In addition to adapting “The Long Game” for season two, Jacob and his co-writer, Michael Goldbach, are also adding elements of “Role Model,” as characters and timelines overlap in both books.

Heated Rivalry season two is currently slated to be released in April 2027.
