'X-Men' Movie Finds Its Cyclops: Kit Connor Reportedly Lands Role! | Just Jared - Celebrity News and Gossip

Kit Connor is being eyed to join the Marvel universe as the next X-Men movie takes shape!

Apparently, the 22-year-old Heartstopper actor is in talks to play Cyclops/Scott Summers in the upcoming film, Deadline reports. Marvel Studios is rebooting the fan fave series with Jake Schreier directing the movie after he was acclaimed for his work on the Thunderbolts film.

If you aren’t aware of the lore, Cyclops is a mutant whose eyes emit powerful energy blasts that he can only control with specialized equipment. Known for his disciplined mindset and tactical thinking, he has long served as one of the X-Men’s most dependable leaders in the comics.

James Marsden played the role in many of the most recent films, and is returning for Avengers: Doomsday later this year.

Kit‘s casting comes just days after it was announced that Samara Weaving was linked to the role of Emma Frost, a telepathic Mutant. Sadie Sink will also presumably star as Jean Grey.
