Kaitlan Collins Addresses Donald Trump's Attacks in New Interview With Jon Stewart | Just Jared - Celebrity News and Gossip

Kaitlan Collins is responding to President Donald Trump‘s latest insulting remarks.

The CNN news anchor chatted with Jon Stewart during Monday night’s (July 27) episode of The Daily Show and he asked her about Trump‘s comments during Friday’s White House Correspondents’ Dinner.

“I’ve always felt this, regardless of who’s the president, whether it’s Joe Biden, Donald Trump,” she said. “It’s really not about me, and I don’t want it to be about my reaction. And so I think if you let it become about that, then it becomes a back and forth between the two of us.”

“I just think in those moments, it’s important to put the reminder back on the work, on the question, and on the non-answers that we get,” Kaitlan said to Stewart.

During the dinner, Trump made several rude comments about Kaitlan, like that she never smiles. It’s not the first time he has spoken about her, either, as previously Anderson Cooper came to her defense after Trump called her a “corrupt reporter” and more.

At the White House Correspondents dinner, he also congratulated her for winning the 2026 WHCA award for her coverage of his meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in February 2025.

He said she “shouldn’t get the award. It was a fake, but I didn’t mind.”

“The fact that I got an award for it really bothered him clearly,” Kaitlan added during her visit to The Daily Show.

Kaitlan continued, adding that she was “not surprised” by his comments.

“That happens pretty regularly inside the Oval Office. This is just a bigger venue where it was happening. What was most surprising to me was the room was filled with a lot of his staffers, his cabinet, his allies, Republicans in Congress… it was so quiet in the room during the president’s remarks,” she said.
