Carly Rae Jepsen is back with new music!

The 40-year-old singer just dropped her new single “On Wires,” which is the lead track from her upcoming 24-track double album Day and Night, which is set for release on September 18.

Carly Rae‘s label notes that the “song captures a new relationship teetering between friendship and romance.” The video “explores another dichotomy: the tug-of-war between motherhood and career. Fighting to carve out space for both, Jepsen grabs a microphone and, with its long cord trailing behind her, ventures out from a club and into the world.”

Carly Rae sings on the song, “I want to be more than friends for the week, yeah, yeah / I want to be more than friends for the week / And if you want, and if you’d like / I won’t make you read my mind / I want you… So what are we gonna do?”

Carly Rae‘s first live performance of 2026 is set for the All Things Go Festival in New York City on September 27, where she will officially launch the music from Day and Night.
