Jasmine Amy Rogers Will Star in Two Broadway Shows Next Season, Including 'Sound of Music' Revival! - Just Jared - Celebrity News and Gossip

Jasmine Amy Rogers is one of Broadway’s hottest rising stars and she’s already book up for the next year!

Fresh off of finishing her acclaimed run in the Off-Broadway revival of The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, it was announced this week that Jasmine will star in the Broadway premiere of the play School Girls; Or The African Mean Girls Play. Preview performances begin on September 8 ahead of an official opening on September 28.

After wrapping the limited run of School Girls, Jasmine has already book another Broadway show for 2027.

It was just announced that Jasmine will be playing Maria in a revival of The Sound of Music at Lincoln Center Theater. The 17-week limited engagement begins March 23, 2027.

At a press conference to announce the news, director Lear deBessonet explained why Jasmine was the perfect choice to play Maria.

“When Jasmine Amy Rogers read for this part, it was like a moment of aesthetic arrest in the room because it was both perfectly the essence of Maria, in all of her joy and her strength and her messiness. But also, there was a real truthfulness that, for me, is going to give people a new experience of the show,” Lear said.

Jasmine previously received a Tony nomination for playing the title character in Boop! The Musical.
