8 Actors With a Chance to Score Multiple Nominations in the Same Category at 2027 Academy Awards - Just Jared - Celebrity News and Gossip

The upcoming 99th Academy Awards could prove to be a chance for multiple actors to score more than one nomination within the same race due to rule changes.

An actor will now have the chance to earn multiple nominations in the same category if the performances all rank among the top five vote getters, per Variety.

With many major releases still set to come out in 2026, there are a few stars who could wind up with multiple nominations in major categories thanks to having a full slate of upcoming projects all releasing before the nomination window closes.

• Andrew Garfield (Artificial, The Uprising)
• Anne Hathaway (The Devil Wears Prada 2, Verity, The Odyssey, The End of Oak Street)
• Brad Pitt (The Adventures of Cliff Booth, Heart of the Beast, The Riders)
• Olivia Wilde (I Want Your Sex, The Invite, Behemoth!)
• Penelope Cruz (The Invite, La Bola Negra, and possibly Bunker)
• Robert Pattinson (Dune: Part Three, The Odyssey, The Drama)
• Sandra Huller (Rose, Project Hail Mary, Fatherland, Digger)
• Zendaya (Dune: Part Three, The Odyssey, The Drama, Primetime, Here Comes the Flood)

To qualify for the 2027 Oscars, movies will need to have a theatrical release between January 1, 2026, and December 31, 2026.

Next year’s ceremony already has a date set for March 14, 2027. Conan O’Brien will return to host.
