The 55-year-old entertainer recently faced some allegations after a post surfaced on her social media regarding the former First Lady Michelle Obama, which her account had re-shared. In addition, reports have circulated that she apparently donated to Donald Trump fundraising groups, WinRed (a fundraising platform for the Republican Party), and more.

On Saturday (March 28), she took to social media and posted, “I WANT TO BE CLEAR: I am not MAGA and do not support any of the many policies that are causing great harm to the American people. I made a mistake too many make: I did not read the fine print. I thought I was supporting causes against human trafficking and for veterans.”
She added, “Two things I care deeply about as my dad is a veteran and everyone knows I love children. I have learned a valuable lesson and ask for grace as I navigate this.”
In a video, partially posted on her Instagram and the rest obtained by TMZ, she explained further.
“I wanted to come on here to address a few things circulating on the internet that are very concerning to me,” she shared.
She claimed she accidentally reposted the conspiracy theory about Michelle Obama, and that she voted for former President Obama twice.
“I would never do anything that is harmful or hateful to anybody,” she shared.
As for donations she’s made in the past, she continued, “When it comes to organizations that I have donated to, these are the things that support the veterans. I have always supported them, not just now, but for years…I just wanted to let you guys know this from me. I would never do anything so disrespectful. I’m just not about hate.”
