Ride Along 3 is in the works!

Kevin Hart and Ice Cube are believed to be in talks to return for a third movie in the buddy cop action franchise, along with director Tim Story and producer Will Packer also possibly returning.

Deadline says the news comes as Universal “closed a deal with scribe Daniel Gold (Tough Guys) to pen the screenplay.”

The outlet says that the two co-leads, Tim, and Will, have all been interested in making Ride Along 3 for a long time, but have been unable to agree on an idea. Supposedly Daniel‘s script idea has them “excited and on the same page.”

Ride Along was released in 2014 and then its sequel came out in 2016. The franchise has earned almost $280 million globally.

Given the success of action-comedy franchise Bad Boys, which returned with two new films in 2020 and 2024, now does seem like a good time for a movie like Ride Along 3.

In a similar vein, Rush Hour 4 is also in development.

Kevin has a busy year ahead as he’ll be roasted during the final night of Netflix’s upcoming Netflix is a Joke Fest.

He also has a new series called Funny AF coming soon in which he and a team of guest judges will try to find the next big stand-up comic.
