Ryan Seacrest wanted everyone to get the chance to see his pedicure.

The 51-year-old host of American Idol was noticeably barefoot during the Monday night (March 30) episode of the singing competition show while chatting with contestant Kyndal Inskeep, who was also without shoes.

Speaking with Entertainment Tonight about his decision, Ryan said he saw Kyndal without shoes and thought, “I’ve never hosted a show in my bare feet. I want to feel grounded, I want to feel that.”

That being said, he is also fully aware that his feet might wind up on the celebrity foot website WikiFeet.

Ryan said he spent “42 bucks” on his latest pedicure, so he wanted to “show them off.”

“I just had them done, so it’s good it wasn’t next week,” he joked.

That same episode of American Idol included a genuinely shocking ending as they had to cancel the elimination amid difficulties tallying the votes.

Just as the host was prepping to announce the results of the live voting, which would narrow down the competition from the Top 14 to the Top 12, producers pulled the plug, citing issues with adding up the votes.

The Monday episode marked the first time ABC had added social media voting into the mix.
