We’ve got new updates on Glen Powell and Judd Apatow‘s previously untitled comedy movie!

The 37-year-old actor and writer and the 58-year-old filmmaker co-wrote the upcoming film, now titled The Comeback King, which was first announced back in April 2025.

In addition to the title revealed, additional casting has also been confirmed.

The Comeback King is a comedy film “about a country western star in free fall,” and is also set to star Glen, with Cristin Milioti, Madelyn Cline, Stavros Halkias and Li Jin Hao.

Judd will also produce through his Apatow Productions, continuing his longstanding relationship with Universal, following such films as The 40-Year-Old Virgin, Knocked Up, Funny People, This Is 40, Trainwreck and The King of Staten Island.

Glen is also producing with Dan Cohen through their company Barnstorm’s first look deal with Universal. Previously, Glen worked with the production company on Twisters, and he also recently voiced a character in The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, from Universal, Nintendo and Illumination.

Production is currently underway, and The Comeback King is scheduled for a February 5, 2027 theatrical release.
