Corey Feldman is addressing his absence from the emotional tribute to the late Rob Reiner at the 2026 Oscars earlier this month.

During the awards ceremony, Billy Crystal led a tribute to the late filmmaker, which featured many of the stars Rob worked with throughout his career.

Noticeably absent from the lineup was Corey, 54, who starred in Rob‘s 1986 movie Stand By Me.

“Instead, I just want to say that I’m, with the rest of us, we’re all very destroyed that things went down the way they did, losing Rob when we all thought he’d be joining us at some point for this tour,” he continued, referring to the theatrical re-release of Stand By Me.

The movie, which Corey starred in alongside Jerry O’Connell and Wil Wheaton, is returning to theaters in honor of its 40th anniversary. Jerry and Wil both took part in the Oscars tribute to Rob.

“We all would’ve loved to be able to say goodbye in our own ways,” Corey said. “Unfortunately, that didn’t happen. The best way we can say goodbye is honoring him and his work and his film through these tours that we’re doing and these interviews and getting people to take the moment and time to acknowledge the history of his work and art that he created. And hopefully going out there to celebrate him one last time on a big screen where it deserves to be seen.”

Ahead of the Oscars, Corey shared why he believes he wasn’t invited to take part in the tribute.
