Charlie Day‘s response to a question about “Luigi” is getting a lot of attention online!

If you don’t know, Charlie voices the iconic Nintendo character Luigi in The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, out in theaters now.

While sitting down for an interview with “Tintoria” alongside his co-stars, Anya Taylor-Joy and Keegan-Michael Key, he was asked a very leading question.

They asked him to name his “favorite Luigi in recent American history?”

It’s clear that they were looking for a very specific answer to this question, as there are not too many Luigis that are prominent in recent American history, except one.
Charlie played along with the hosts and repeated, “In recent American history?!” He then said, “Well, me, first of all, number one. Uh, Luigi Mangione, number two.”

If you don’t know, Luigi Mangione is accused of killing UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson.

In reaction to Charlie‘s answer, Keegan-Michael laughed hysterically while Anya smiled and covered her face.
