The cast of Cats: The Jellicle Ball glammed up for a night of celebrating their opening night on Broadway!

The revival of the classic Andrew Lloyd Webber musical, set in the New York City ballroom culture, officially opened on Tuesday night (April 7) at the Broadhurst Theatre in NYC.

ALW was on-hand to present star “Tempress” Chasity Moore, a real-life ballroom icon, with flowers during the curtain call. She has been getting raves for her performance as Grizabella, who belts out the beloved song “Memory.” Also starring in the musical is two-time Tony winner Andre de Shields as Old Deuteronomy.

More cast members on the carpet included Ken Ard, Kya Azeen, Bryson Battle, Jonathan Burke, Baby Byrne, Sydney James Harcourt, Dava Huesca, Dudney Joseph Jr., Juniora Labeija, Leiomy, Robert Silk Mason, Primo Thee Ballerino, Xavier Reyes, Nora Schell, Bebe Nicole Simpson, Emma Sofia, Garnet Williams, and Teddy Wilson Jr.

Lloyd Webber has explained what he loves about this production.

“Well, what’s wonderful about this is that it is so original, so daring,” he told People. “And it has a quality about it that I think [T.S.] Eliot would have loved. And I think what it is, if it’s got real heart, that’s what this has. And I think that’s the big difference.”
