Bob’s Burgers star Eugene Mirman was involved in a fiery car crash earlier this week.

On Tuesday (March 31), New Hampshire State Police were called to a “single-vehicle crash” into a toll plaza on the F.E. Everett Turnpike in the town of Bedford at approximately 11:55 am, according to People.

The victim of the crash was later identified as Eugene, 51, who is best known for voice Gene Belcher on Bob’s Burgers. An ambulance transported Eugene to the hospital “with serious injuries.”

He wants to thank the bystanders, state police, first responders and hospital staff who saved him,” Eugene‘s rep later shared in a statement. “He is grateful to be on the mend. At this time, we kindly ask for privacy for Eugene and his family as he focuses on recovering from his injuries.”

Authorities also shared a press release addressing the crash.

“While units were responding, a veteran State Trooper assigned to Governor Kelly Ayotte’s security detail came upon the crash, saw that the vehicle was actively on fire, and observed the driver was still inside,” the statement read. “The driver was then pulled from the burning car through a window and brought to safety. Governor Ayotte, along with other witnesses at the scene, provided assistance to the Trooper.”

As of right now, no charges have been filed, but all aspects of the crash remain under investigation.
