Adrian Grenier is speaking out about not being asked back for the upcoming The Devil Wears Prada sequel.
The 49-year-old actor played Anne Hathaway‘s character Andrea Sachs’ boyfriend Nate in the first film, but he won’t be returning, which doesn’t come as much as a surprise given how their relationship storyline ended in the first movie.
In a new Starbucks ad, Adrian comments on not returning for The Devil Wears Prada 2.

“You might have seen the headlines. I wasn’t asked to be a part of a certain sequel,” he says while standing at the Starbucks pickup counter. “But I’m good. Really. It’s all good energy.”
“So, a toast to Nate!” Adrian adds as he turns around speaking to other customers. “He made a mean sandwich. He loved his girlfriend, to a point.”
“Okay, so he wasn’t perfect,” he continues while sitting at a table. “So let’s leave Nate in 2006, and keep this good energy going… I mean, if they call, I’m free.”
Despite not being in The Devil Wears Prada 2, Adrian teamed up with the coffee company to celebrate the new Starbucks Energy Refreshers and the upcoming movie.
Just last month, Adrian revealed he was never asked to return for the sequel, but notes he’s happy for everyone else!
