The cause of death of late teen Celeste Rivas Hernandez has been revealed.

The 14-year-old’s body was found last fall in the trunk of a Tesla belonging to singer D4vd, who has since been charged with her murder, sexual assault and dismembering a body.

Following an autopsy report in December, the results have now been unsealed and released after criminal charges were filed against the singer this week.

According to Variety, the report reveals that Celeste died of multiple stab wounds to the torso, upper abdomen and chest. Her body was found deeply decomposed, with her arms and legs cut off, in the front trunk of the singer’s car in September.

She was last seen alive on April 23, 2025, when she went to D4vd‘s home in Los Angeles, per District Attorney Nathan Hochman, and is believed to have been murdered on or about that date.

In a new statement from her family, her parents thank the LAPD and DA office, while remembering their late daughter.

“We would like to thank the Los Angeles Police Department and the District Attorney’s Office for their hard work. We would also like to thank the people of Lake Elsinore for all their support,” her parents Jesus and Mercedes shared in a statement with the New York Post. “Celeste was a beautiful, strong girl who loved to sing and dance. Every Friday night was movie night and we spent wonderful times together.”

D4vd, whose real name is David Burke, could potentially face the death penalty, though he has plead not guilty to the charges.
