The stars of The Devil Wears Prada 2 visit SiriusXM Front Row hosted by Andy Cohen!
Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Stanley Tucci, and Emily Blunt stopped by the SiriusXM Studios on Monday (April 20) in New York City. Meryl also visited Good Morning America to promote the film and was spotted exiting ABC Studios in NYC wearing an all-black ensemble.
For their interview with Andy, Meryl talked about her lack of interest in writing a memoir, if she’d return for The Devil Wears Prada 3, and more.
When asked about a potential third movie, the stars all seemed game, with Stanley saying, “Well I hope so,” and Meryl adding that she’s “up for it” as well as being up for Mamma Mia 3.

But one thing the three-time Oscar winner isn’t interested in is writing a memoir, calling the idea of it “too boring.”
Scenes in The Devil Wears Prada 2 were filmed at real fashion shows, and for Meryl it was a first.
“It was really exciting and I didn’t know it was so theatrical,” she shared, revealing she enjoyed going in sunglasses as part of her Miranda Priestly get-up.
“Nobody knew where I was looking. That was so good. Now I know why she does that,” Meryl said, referring to Anna Wintour who she recently collaborated with on a Vogue cover.
Andy chimed in, “By the way, the Vogue cover is so great. That had to be really cool.”
Speaking about Anna, the Sophie’s Choice star said, “She’s a really— she’s so smart and funny and forgiving and understanding. Forgiving.”
The cast also talked about filming the first movie and Emily admitted she was quite intimidated by Meryl in the early days.
Emily says Meryl was very “in the zone,” the Miranda zone, so to speak.
“Aloof, let’s say. Not impenetrable, but we could come up and tell you a funny story, but you wouldn’t do your extraordinary laugh that I normally heard,” she reflected.
Expanding on her “aloofness,” Meryl said it wasn’t that she was being method, more than she was maintaining a certain distance to create a sense of authority and “a slight remove” so she’d be more believable as the boss on-screen.
“I was talking to Greta Gerwig about this. She was saying the same thing,” Meryl shared. “You know, they kind of don’t want you at the cast party, right? It’s like you have to have just a little bit of a barrier to feel like the boss and to make it—I don’t know what it was, but it worked. When I went back and was miserable in my trailer and heard them all in the makeup trailer and they’re all—I could hear from far away—they’re all having a great time, you know.”
“Wow. It’s lonely at the top,” Andy noted.
“It was lonely at the top,” Meryl agreed.
