Jana Wissmann (née Duggar) is latest member of the Duggar family to react to news of Joseph Duggar‘s arrest.

If you did not see this news, on March 18, the 31-year-old former 19 Kids and Counting star was arrested and charged with lewd and lascivious behavior, involving unlawful sexual activity with a minor who is said to now be 14-years-old.

On Thursday (April 2), Jana, 36, took to her Instagram Story to share a statement on behalf of herself and husband Stephen Wissmann addressing her brother’s arrest.

Keep reading to find out more…“We are deeply saddened and heartbroken by the situation involving my brother, Joseph,” Jana wrote. “This news came as a shock to us, and we had no prior knowledge before it became public.”

“Our hearts are with the child who has been harmed — this is a grievous and unacceptable wrong,” she continued. “We continue to pray for the victim and for justice to be carried out.”

Joseph was charged in connection with a child sexual abuse case involving a then-9-year-old girl, who was on vacation with her family in Panama City Beach, Florida in 2020.

Earlier this week, he entered a “Not Guilty” plea.

Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar also recently released a statement reacting to their son’s arrest.
