The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is being released in theaters this week and the film includes a star-studded cast, including six actors who were in the previous movie.

The Super Mario Bros. Movie was a surprise box office smash hit back in 2023, grossing over $1.36 billion at the worldwide box office and earning three Golden Globe nominations.

While the movie is hitting theaters on April 1, 2026, fans in Japan will have to wait a few extra weeks as it will be released on April 24 in that country.

Chris Pratt is obviously returning as the voice of Mario and there are six new cast members who are joining for the sequel. Three of the main actors from the first movie will not be back.

Reviews are in and critics are not impressed by the film, with the Rotten Tomatoes score coming in a lot lower than the previous installment. Despite this, box office experts predict that the movie will become the top-grossing movie of the year so far.
