Chris Martin is out for an afternoon.

The 49-year-old Coldplay frontman was photographed leaving his hotel in New York on Wednesday (March 25).

Chris is not often photographed out and about in public, but he appeared to be in high spirits as he was seen getting into a car. He wore a black sweater, dark-colored pants, Hoka sneakers, and a blue “Life Rolls On” ball cap.

Chris has a pretty exciting year ahead of him, as he is working with FIFA to curate “the first ever Super Bowl-style halftime show” at this year’s World Cup final, per Billboard.

The World Cup will host the final on July 19 at The MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, which will be named the New York New Jersey Stadium for the premier men’s soccer tournament. They will stage a “takeover” of Times Square for the last weekend, to be co-hosted by the United States, Mexico, and Canada.

While it’s not clear if Coldplay will actually be performing, Chris is involved in planning the show and booking guests.
